Every day I wander to myself, "how long should I spend doing art today?". It always goes unanswered as I get distracted by other, easier forms of entertainment...
At present, I have 3 pictures on the go. It goes the same way everytime I start to paint:
1. Think briefly about an environment.
2. Put some grey blobs on the page.
3. Scribble some more dark grey in the foreground.
4. Add colours to create a mood.
5. Look for objects in the abstract shapes I've painted.
6. Define objects.
7. Picture starts to develop and then...
8. I get bored and move on ;_;
I've been stuck in this cycle for a few months now, but only realised this since returning home.
I often think to myself "Am I only painting environments to build up a portfolio for my hopeful career in concept art?" When I think this, I get sad....
not being able to finish.. Is this some new form of artist block?
